Resident Evil VII is by far one of the most anticipated games in the first quarter of 2017. It’s been over 4 years since the last main title in the series, and the anticipation has reached a fever pitch for this new iteration.

For game movie purposes, the game was difficult to edit since there aren’t many traditional “cutscenes.” There are tons of cinematic scary moments, but in order for those to work, we definitely had to leave some quiet time before horror moments so that there would more surprises throughout the viewing experience. As always we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to create a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME:
There’s been a split response leading up to RE7. There’s one side that sees this new game as an Outlast/Silent Hills clone; a game that has drifted so far from the Resident Evil franchise that it no longer should carry the name. The other group of people don’t care if it is a Silent Hills clone, but just are happy to see the horror back in the franchise.

I was one of those who criticized the game for seeming like a cash grab clone of the current horror trend. Where is Umbrella Corps? Where is Leon, Chris, Jill or any other hero from the franchise? After playing the demo, I was pleasantly surprised on how genuinely scary it was and how much fun it was to find all the hidden secrets. The full game itself is a more linear than the demo, but it has to be to push the story forward. There are still tons of secrets to find and a variety of fun puzzles to solve. In truth, this is probably the most like the original since Resident Evil 2. It is almost like playing the original in first person. Encounters with enemies don’t happen too often, but each time it’s tense and terrifying. Combat is slow and deliberate and it adds to the atmosphere.

The story starts with a simple tease. You are Ethan and your girlfriend has been missing for 3 years. Out of the blue you get a message from her telling you that she is alive so you set out to try and save her. It’s simple but effective in sucking you in to the story. By the end it’s much more complex and the story gets more and and more interesting as it unwinds. The story is definitely influenced by some classic horror movies.

Overall, RE7 is a return to form for the franchise. Before you cast it off as a cash grab clone, I’d say the game deserves a chance. Especially if you enjoy horror games. The game took 10 hours to get through the story.. After you beat it on Normal, you unlock the “Madhouse” difficulty, which could make it worth a second playthrough. One of the better horror games in recent memory
Score: 9/10

  • That cop was pretty reasonable to be honest. Ethan could have done a better job making his case, but then again he was probably scared and under the effects of adrenaline. It's hard to be rational in that state.

  • As a fan and player this is good side scroller to the franchise. It's by no means a proper sequel like resident evil revelations one that had returned to roots. It wasn't a new entry but it had scares and tight corners like it should. This feels too out there as a main stay which is why it is likely underselling. Just hope they course correct for the re revelations 1 not 2 which had potential.

  • are you guys considering doing the outlast games?

  • leon would fuck up these hillbillies

  • Does this fit into the RE story line at all?

  • How Ethan manages to just walk off being dismembered and stabbed:

His grandpa was Ash from Evil Dead.

  • ethan is a son of a gun wth

  • honestly, this was way more disturbing than scary so resident evil 4 will still be the scariest game of RE.

  • The little girl just wanted a family & that bitch Mia couldn't give her one. They created her & then they kill her cause of the powers that she was given uses them for evil purposes. Don't you think you could have made part of your family & used her for an agent of umbrella ? Since you know she has those powers. But no. fucking chuck norris over here can't think.

  • 58:45 the og menu sound

  • Was the hand getting just stapled back together explained? How the fuck?

  • What happened to the son of the family?

  • Something's not quiet right:
By losing many fireteams Chris Redfield's appearance changed.
Umbrella?! The fuck did the BSAA go?

  • So ironic how the password was 1408, reminds me of the movie

  • I never would've thought that in a resident evil game I'd be saved by umbrella at the end.

  • i'm watching this while eating KFC and i have no problem with that.

  • I'm getting a Condemned vibe from this and I approve.

  • Does this have anything to do with umbrella because I don't follow resident evil and I don't know that much

  • Thanks again for sharing!
Seems like you may of tried to streamline the 'movie' a bit by not including 'minor' monster scenes, and some travel parts. Still very grateful you shared it though.

  • feels like we're watching outlast: zombie edition

  • How did he stop he bleeding after being amputated?

  • Am i the only 1 whos watched Z nation and thinks of Eveline as Murphy or his daughter She can control the baker family by turning them into infected and give people gives and mutations and her accelerated growth

  • If you knew the solution to the birthday puzzle why did you go through getting the loser on your arm?

  • Scale of Donald trump to 10 how scary is it before I watch

  • Farewell Zoe 🙁

  • this game looks like a B movie
